About the Role:
We are looking for a Water/ Wastewater Engineer to join our team! You will be given the opportunity to support the engineering team in designing, permitting, assisting, funding, and bidding around water and wastewater infrastructure. These projects will likely focus on pumping, distribution, storage, wastewater collection and treatment work.

HMH will hire an Engineer in Training (EIT) up to a Project Engineer (PE) to support the design and engineering of water/wastewater treatment.

This position is full-time. Generally, it will be a 40-hour, 5-day work week, however work outside of these times may be necessary on a project specific.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design facilities for wastewater and sewage disposal to prevent flood-related damage and provide portable water (Civil 3D)
  • Design calculations (stormwater, sewer, septic, traffic, roadway, meetings, etc.)
  • Perform hydraulic modeling and pipeline design (Utilizing: SRH-2D, HEC-RAS, HY-8)
  • Map out water distribution systems using AutoCAD
  • Monitor construction process by providing job site support
  • Water/Wastewater facility plans
  • Develop construction cost estimates and analyze system operations, maintenance costs and specifications for job plans
  • Review and critique proposals, plans, or designs related to water or wastewater systems
  • Prepare contract drawings and technical specifications
  • Designing water and wastewater systems in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines
  • Compiling and writing bid packages (including plans, specs, and estimates)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one
  • Experience in water and wastewater related design and construction
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, environmental regulations, and industry standards
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software is a plus
  • Experience with project management and client interaction is a plus
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed
